Worth upgrading 5870?

Hi I have a 5870 and it has been great for years now. Should I bother upgrading for arma3?

Arma s typically more dependant on CPU, ram timings and HDD speed. Which my cpu runs at 4.7ghz, ram is fine and I have 2x SSDs.

All I ever play atm is World of Tanks and War Thunder, which are maxed at 60fps anyway.

I probaly don't need an upgrade lol, I should at least wait on the Arma 3 alpha on 5th March anyway. I need maxed view distance!
 
Yes!!!!!!!!!!

An any one who says No is talking out of there hoop! i up graded from 2 x 5770 to a 7850 an noticed a big difference.
 
Problem with the 587p is the lack of vram, while its fine for those games a new card wont hurt. Im in the same boat as you. If you want to play any of the above in a decent group drop me a mail, especially arma. Got about 20 to 30 per arma session now

Try your card out first.

Anything under an HD7870 LE or HD7950 is unlikely to a big enough upgrade IMHO,ie,nearly doubling framerates.
 
Thats the thing at 1080p I get 50-60fps in arma 2.

Arent the 600 and 7000 series nearing EOL?

I dont want to spend £400 if next month new cards come out.
 
7850 is decent enough imo,esp with the newer drivers,performance has increased

for 1920x1080 its a decent card imo,plus its silent and cool compared to a 5870,max ive seen on my card is 60c in hours of farcry3

EDIT: i had a sapphire vapour x 5870,went to an msi twin frozr 3 7850,its streets ahead,run it at 1050mhz core,1375mhz memory on stock voltage
