Worth upgrading a 2600k?

CPU 4.4 Ghz, GPU 1200/1600.

GPU would be +/-20 or so both mem/core.

DRAM is 1:1 at the moment. Can't remember what DDR3 ran at.

I too have that itch and currently have a 2600K and find myself hovering over the 5960...

Have ordered 2 x GTX980's already and don't want to think my Z77 Sabretooth and 2600 will be holding them back from being fully unleashed on Farcry 4 on my RoG Swift.

Yes I am, I can see increases but I wouldn't say it's been worth the outlay. Depends if you can justify the cost I guess.

Justified because you are spending a shed load of money and It's the future proofing, as much as one can anyway, moving to the 5960.

Generally I upgrade every 3 years or so and very tempted to go the same route as you.
