Currently clocking my q66 at 3.0ghz, hoping to push 3.2-3.6 when I get my ram back from RMA.
Thinking of swapping it in a few months, but im thinking is it worth it? I dont have a problem with heat really, or power. Would sumin like a q9550 or maybe a nice duo like a e8400 really make much of a difference?

I mainly use my puter for games.

Cheers

nah m8, you should be fine with a q66, u still have some OC head room if you need it

don't know what vid card you have, but i would suggest upgrading that to really benefit in games

firstly what is the rest of your system like?

because for example, you have a very poor GPU, you are better off upgradingng that first

I have a 4850 512mb, running at 1680x1050.

Basically im trying to decide wether to stick with 775 or change to i7/deneb.
If my q66 is okid use it till i can afford the above said chips.

This is the only quad ive had, moved up from a p4, so i dont really know how it compares to other 775's.

The Q6600 should be good for now especially if you overclock it when you need some extra power. I will only upgrade when the AM3 Denebs are out and if they perform considerably better then the Q6600 or when Intel gets their 32nm processor out which will be late next year from what l remember.

lol yeah if you could buy it :D

Thanks for the advice guys, will keep my q6600 for now, prob look at getting a Deneb, dont know if ddr3 or ddr2 yet.
I can use all my old bits with the q6600 to make a second comp when i get a deneb :D.
