I game at 3440x1440 - i have a 240hz monitor, ive scoured the internet and while i can see that i should get a boost at 1440p of maybe 10-15% on the cpu, it also doesnt factor in i should get a boost with the ram.

What do we think, is it worth making the switch, has anyone else gone from 12900 to the 7800x3d?

What GPU?

RAM adds a small framerate boost up to a point but it is generally quickly diminishing returns.
Ive got a 4090 - i was running at 4k before i got this LG oled 3440x1440 monitor so there wasnt really any point in upgrading then, i play mainly trackmania and the frame rate jumps all over the place on that at 1440p - like 120-200fps

If you could find a 14900k with a great deal it could be worth it, but you're far more likely to find a cheap 13900k on the members market, or other places.

I've got two systems, one with a 7950x3d and another with 13900k. I can't tell the difference in games when using a 4090, they're both amazing. As you can just plug in the 13900k with a BIOS update, it's a very cheap upgrade for you.

Also at 4k you're not going to tell the difference in 99% of benchmarks let alone be able to tell yourself in games, between ddr4 and ddr5.
Yeah i wasnt considering switching when i was at 4k.
