hey guys, i'm thinking of buying a geforce 8800 gt crysis edition to replace my ageing 8800gts 320mb.
Just wanted to aks if i do make the upgrade, will it be worth the money and effort, and will i notice any difference in performance.
The graphics card im thinking of buy is: http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=GX-041-EA&groupid=701&catid=56&subcat=1008

I do game quite a lot, typically at resolutions of 1440X900, so will this graphics card handle that resolution?

If you can get a decent price for your gts then it will be worth it as i think its around 20 percent faster than what you have at that resolution. If you can't get decent money for the gts then i would save your money and wait for the next gen of cards which should be a really big jump for you. As for that resolution the 8800gt will be fine at that resolution and above. The 8800 gts 320 you have has enough memory for that res also.

I just made the same move from an EVGA Superclocked 320mb 8800GTS to my new Zotac 8800GT and game at 1280x1024 which is similar to your res and it was a decent boost. I can run games with just about maximum eye candy now and it's a lot smoother too. I did get a good price for my GTS though.
