Hi all,

Above is a list of my current computer and its been a while since Ive upgraded. I play a lot of games at 1680x1050 (monitor limit) but may get a larger one in the future.

A friend needs a PC so was thinking of maybe buying some new bits and building a new one and giving him the bits I dont use so he can build a new one.

Any ideas what to go for and how much?

As far as I know, the Q6600 is meant to overclock pretty well. Have you thought about getting an aftermarket cooler for it?

Also, defo some new RAM would come in handy, ie 4GB especially if you are using 64-bit OS

It all depends how much you want to spend, and how long you plan on keeping your next rig for.

How long have you had this one for?

id just clock the chip higher and add more ram
if you have the upgrade bug maybe gpu

i have it clocked at 2.9 from 2.4 and have an aftermarket cooler on..... it gets a bit unstable if i try overclocking much more.

So the new cpus and mobos dont offer much over what I have currently?
