Current spec:

Asus A8V deluxe
Club3d 6800GT (AGP)
Athlon 64 3500+ (socket 939)
1GB (2x512) OCZ Gold 3200
74GB Raptor

Just purchased:

Asus A8N-SLi Premium nForce4 SLi PCI-Express
Aopen 7800GT (PCI-Express)

Is it worth keeping my A64 3500 processor with the new parts iv got, or do you think its worth upgrading the processor aswel? If so, what do you guys recommend?

Keep it and clock it, or go for an x2 3800 :)

I should have mentioned, I dont really bother with overclocking :o

Will the X2 3800 make a noticeable difference over a 3500? Would buying 2 gig ram be a better option?

Well at stock i think the x2 3800+ would be slightly slower than a stock 3500+ unless you run games/apps with dual core support. To be honest id stick with what you have for the moment. then sell the old mobo and gfx card and possibly the cpu together and add that to your cpu budget, you could probably get a 4200+/4400+ then

And going from a 6800GT to a 7800GT should give a nice boost as well :)

The fastest CPU and what you have now will make no or very little difference in games when running at high resolutions.

i'd keep the current cpu....maybe upgrade something else if the money is burning a hole in your pocket....a nice new monitor for the graphincs card perhaps?

And do what with my Dell 2405FPW? ;)

Na trust me mate, theres no money burning a hole in my pocket, I picked the gfx card and mobo up REALLY cheap here on ocuk, but if the cpu is good enough then il most definately keep it, cant justify spending any more money if its just gonna make a fraction of a difference.

I know this isnt the memory section but... will 2GB be better then my current 1GB ram considering I dont overclock?
