I've had a phenom 2 B75 for about a year and a half now, basically just a 740 BE with the multiplier locked.

Currently running it @ 3.5ghz (from memory) with the 4th core unlocked. I usually upgrade the machine slightly around this time of year and have spent less than anticipated this time round. Been half considering something like a 960t but not sure whether I would be as well waiting to see what's round the corner next year for amd/intel?

I use the pc for some occasional encoding and gaming - currently happy with the gaming performance of the machine for what it has cost me overall but more cpu intensive work feels a bit sluggish to me. Then again I don't do it too often (once or twice a month) so it's not a huge issue - I also don't think I'd get much back for the current chip - then again I only paid £50 for it

Rest of build

MSI 870 board, 4gb ddr3, 7200rpm satas at about 800gb overall, 1gb 5830 gpu, freezer 13 pro cooler, several 120mm case fans etc

Personally I'd leave it as it is, save your money and upgrade the motherboard and CPU at the same time. That's my plan anyway.
