I struggle to get a good wifi signal downstairs with my Sky supplied Netgear DG834GT108 on my netbook. My iPhone is usually ok though!?
It's not a huge house just old with proper walls. I have tried a wifi extender but it was hit and miss. I am wondering if I change the Sky router to one of these http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=NW-143-NG&groupid=46&catid=1595&subcat= if it will solve my problems? I know the range is better but will the penetration be better too.
Also as the Sky routers have locked firmware how easy is it to get the info required to change routers?
