At the moment I'm using an E2200 @ 3.1GHz on my Asus P5N-E SLI motherboard. As well as getting a significant boost to multithreaded applications like rendering and transcoding I was hoping to get a performance boost on 1-2 threaded cpu bound applications. Would it be worth at the £75 price point of the Q6600 to upgrade to it now, what overclock could I achieve on my motherboard?

Worth upgrading to Q6600?

Would be a well worth while upgrade for definate, these chips are great.
OC wise don't know on that board but I reckon you'd get 3.2-3.4 with good cooling, and the extra L2 cache will benefit too.
