So I'm running an rtx 2080 and want some of this full rtx goodness had some money put away for the new 3000 series that would have been announced now but has now been delayed with some people saying q4 the earliest so is it worth grabbing a 2080ti for the next 5 months or jousting holding on???

Be crazy to upgrade from a RTX 2080 to an RTX 2080ti now
From a GTX 1080 I could understand but not a RTX 2080

But it your money to do as you please and we all do crazy things or life would be pretty boring :D

Yeah I'm of 2 minds purely because I dont know if there would be a massive difference in performance as I'm running a top end 2080 super ftw3 gaming ultra was really looking forward to an upgrade to 3000 series with all the hype and saved enough for a new gpu and processor/motherboard as Intel's announcement was imminent as well. Now I'm stuck with all this money to spend and nothing to buy lol

Wait mate, thats what im doing. I purchased a EVGA 2070s to tide me over, its already April..so I cant imagine there being much point for x amounts of months!

Wish I had the space for a 49incher I'm looking at 34 inch 3440 x 1440 screen not much choice though as I'm running a 27inch TN 144hz gsync and want to keep the high refresh rate but also get IPS ultrawide gysnc/compatible and not spend over a grand

I've looked at some of these 120hz ultra wide monitors but they are overclocked and I hear that hitting the 120hz is difficult and normally has issues like flickering or banding

I maybe wrong but I don't think the 120hz dell AW3420DW is overclocked

But it costs £1099 on the dell website which is over your grand price you didn't want to spend

Your right, the AW3420DW is not overclocked. I believe it's actually under clocked as it's the same panel in the 34GK950F 34" 3440X1440 NANO IPS FREESYNC 2 HDR which is a 144HZ panel.

Look at the games you play and see what the FPS differences are.

Then work out the cost to upgrade per frame.

Then put away your wallet as if you’d have 2080ti money in the first place you’d have bought one.

Now is the time to be sensible with your money.

Nvidia will be laughing their heads off at people buying 2080tis right now, especially 2080 upgraders!

maybe a ventilator or oxygen cylinder?

but no in answer to your question a 2080Ti is not worth it and never was, its simply too over priced for too little gain. Take the whole price, value and worth thing out of the equation its a very fast GPU for those that want the best. They will probably fall in price over the next 3months, don't listen to the prices will go up nonsense this will only be short term both retailers, manufacturers and suppliers will have to shift stock sooner or later.

Same, moved from Vega 64 to 2070S as a stop gap until the 3080ti hits the market.
