Worth upgrading to SB from current setup??

I'm currently running the setup in my sig. but have started getting itchy feet to upgrade!

My question is, is it a worthy upgrade to go to a new mobo, i5 2500K CPU and 6-8GB of DDR3 RAM?

I KNOW I should be pushing my Q6600 higher but in all honesty I'm useless at applying thermal paste and I'm paranoid that my temps are too high as it is!

The rest of my rig will be staying the same! (assuming no other bottlenexks that anyone can point out!)

I guess it depends on a few things such as how affordable it is and what you mainly use the system for. It is a pretty good jump in performance though. Check this comparison out:

if you grab a cheap ssd to go with it, you wont need to upgrade agina for atleast a week!

Mostly its used for gaming!

I just cant bring myself to pay that much for such a small capacity SSD to be honest!

SSDs well worth the money to put the OS on, 30-40GB is more than enough. I got the Intel 80GB over a year ago and haven't used half of it yet

Define mostly gaming? If its just gaming, then 4gb ram is enough, anymore is a waste of money really.
