Worth Upgrading?

Hi guys

I currently have a 512mb 1950pro. I am sorely tempted to get a 8800gts for DX10 for Bioshock. Am I being silly? My monitor is a 22" widescreen so I guess I would need the 640mb version?

Do you actually gain much in DX10, I'd heard the extra effects were minimal.

I wouldnt bother until crysis is out and see what kind of difference there is.

At that time the 9800 series MIGHT be out also, so might be worth waiting as the 8800 series should drop a few £££.

Ok cheers guys. From vids i've seen the water effects look cooler - but I don't know if that is really worth upgrading for!!

From what I gather, If you played both versions of Bioshock side by side, you'd be hard pushed to know which one was DX10.

So dont bother...

Your X1950 will play Bioshock just fine on the 22inch with full details.
