Worth upgrading?

Hi Guys,

Currently have a AM3 Tri Core 720 clocked at 3.2ghz....

Would it be worth me upgrading to the 955 or 965be? I know there 4 core but I only play games so doubt extra core much differnce, but would it be worth it for they higher clock speed i would get?

Not really - it would be wiser to wait for future chip releases (~4GHz AM3 quad core) and upgrade when the jump would be far more significant.

However, even then, if your CPU isn't struggling with games and apps i would be inclined to wait for the prices to drop before you buy.

Well as someone who can run his 550 as an X3 or X4 @3.7Ghz, i can tell you that in games, your only going to get a 10-15% improvement in frame rates, when the CPU is the limiting factor...

Not really worth £150.....

Yeah stick for the time being! Not worth it at the moment!
