He's on vista atm but he wants win7. I was just looked at the cost of cpus for it today, and their quite dam cheap, so was just wondering it it would be worth sticking in a faster cpu
About a yr ago I upgraded his hdds and mem,, cos he had a slow ide hdd so I got him a nice fast sammy HD322HJ sata, and got him some decent quality corsair 4gb mem. Cos he uses his pc like a workhorse. So all the cheap nasty stuff has gone from his pc, I have even changed his stock cpu for a freezer pro, to try to make his system crash proof

Well if you are sure that it will not run with anything higher than those 2 I would say to get the 6000+ which you can find here on OCUK for 49 quid http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CP-195-AM&groupid=701&catid=6&subcat=803 and you should also try and get hold of Windows 7.It will run much better than Vista.Its much better optimized.
