Hi all,
I'm the sort of person who likes to upgrade with a huge budget so that my new lovely PC can last many years. That was true a few years ago when I built my current one, however she's a bit long in the tooth now and I want to upgrade. BUT - no money! (well not much!)
My current system is:
Core 2 Duo e6850
4GB Ram OCZ Reaper something or over
HIS Radeon 5850 iCooler V Turbo
1TB Samsung HD (not sure of the model)
400GB Hitachi HD
Asus P5QL-E
Corsair 650W PSU
Currently running the system at 1920x1200.
The main concern I have is gaming. For everything else the thing is fine, its just when I run games I like to have all the settings on the highest they can be. I hate to feel like I'm missing out on some eye candy.
It ran Deus Ex HR on ultra settings with some slowdown here and there. Currently trying Battlefield 3 on ultra it actually runs quite well. 29fps or so. But it freezes now and then.
My budget is pretty much non exsistant but I could find a way to get the job done. Theres always a way
. I'd stick a limit of £500 or so on any upgrade, although less would be the perfect situation. Im not bothered about a new case or anything like that.
Is there any way to get significant increases in gaming out of such a small budget? If its not going to be significant I'd rather just wait until I can actually afford
Cheers chaps.
