Hi Guys,

I built my PC a couple of years ago and have been very pleased with it, with some new games coming out that id like to play and a bit of future proofing (Next Gen Consoles) i am thinking about upgrading my GPU.

The thing is that im not sure if my CPU is a little old now and might cause a bottleneck?, Just want to know your opinions on if i should upgrade or wait a bit for the next Gen GPU's, but by then my CPU will be even older and will probably need a complete new build........ Can't seem to make my mind up, what would you guys do??

My Current Rig.

i5 2500k @ 4.2Ghz
MSI P67 GD65 Mobo
8Gb DDR3 Ram Ripjaws
EVGA GTX 570 SC
Windows 7 64 bit

Was thinking about upgrading to the EVGA GTX770 SC here.....

That will be fine, you won't experience any bottleneck with that CPU.

Can you not overclock the CPU a bot further, most will go to 4.5.

Yeah i could get a bit more out of the CPU, as this was my first build i didn't want to push it to far with the overclock.

So you think its worth upgrading to the 770 from the 570?

Thanks for the info on the CPU guys, just would like to know in your opinion if its worth upgrading to the 770?

Thanks again

I think it is, but most here would say a 7950 because of it being cheap. 770 is totally worth it If you have to cash. If your on a budget the 7950 is the better buy. Unless you have to have Nv.

I agree with the last guy for the money you won't notice a large amount of difference between the 770 and the 7950 and it is better bang for you buck and your some way to getting an crossfire setup which would be better than a single 770.
