Hello!

Am looking to upgrade my old beast, she a acer predator ranger g7200.. I was thinking about upgrading my ram to 8gig and maybe getting 260x graphics card?

Is she worth upgrading?

Cheers:cool:

you'll definitely see an improvment, but I'm guessing you can't over clock with the stock board so you might see bottle necking. But at least the parts you buy can be easily recycled for your next build.

The biggest problem I can see immediately is power. Is your PSU up to the job? I think the min power requirements are 500w? Perhaps you could look at a Gtx 750 (not ti) which is better suited for older pre built machines?

IMO I don't think a ram upgrade is necessary unless you are running lots of applications at the same time.

Power is 750w

Any tips on motherboard or processors?

Cheers

Power is sufficient, but any gpu these days recommend a certified one (something to bare in mind and something some people will have their own options on).

Probably best to post a new "spec me a...." thread with your requirements. You'll get a more numerous response from people than on this one.

Have a think about what you're going to be using it for, budget, where you want to put it, what parts you already have (or want to keep).

Hope that helps!
