Worth upgrading?

was looking for some advice

Looking to purchase a I7-4930k for my main PC. I currently own an I5-4670 overclocked at 4.2ghz

was wondering if their would be a significant performance increase to justify the upgrade?

should say that it would only really be used for gaming!

Not worth upgrading to the 4930k, you may see a little gain in performance and as most games dont use hyperthreading then i personally wouldn't.

Any performance gain would be minimal, you would be better upgrading your gpu or maybe adding a ssd if you haven't done so already?

Not worth upgrading if it is for gaming only. In addition to the CPU, you'd also have to buy a new motherboard as the two CPUs run on different chipsets (z87 vs x79) which would end up costing you a huge chunk of money for barely any gains.
