Is it worth upgrading from an i5 3570k to an i7 4970k, Is there going to be a new line of intel cpu's down the road? Shall I wait?

I currently have an amd asus 7950 gfx card, I mostly play arma 3 (optimisation with this game is horrific).

Probably not, can't say I know much about arma 3's thread use but seems pretty pointless.

There will be a new line, but there will always be a new line until intel go bust or change market segment, doesn't necessarily mean you should wait. However, given the answer above ^^ I'd say wait.

No. Insignificantly quicker considering you'll need a new main board.

Wait and see what Broadwell brings in mid-2015.

Another vote for waiting.

I went from an 2500k to an i7 2600k, I know its the the sane architectural jump like you are talking about but still an upgrade to 4C/8T and I saw no performance increase

no point.

one the engine you playing on is one of the buggiest games ever. regardless of pc spec you get low fps at periods.

99 percent of games youll be equal to anything out now.

at moment games are more gpu than anything. so if anything buy a big card . your cpu wont bottleneck anything unless its a twin gpu card.

wait a yr min then look again. games are pretty bare this year and most big games have been put back till next year.

4k is the only reason at moment for any upgrade for anything gaming wise.
