Worth upgrading?

Current set up:
Intel Core i5-4670K 3.40GHz
EVGA GTX 980 Ti FTW
HyperX Savage 16 GB

I was wondering if it was worth upgrading to an i7 and if so which one?

For gaming, no. If you do a lot of image editing or other stuff that actually makes use of the hyper Threading on a i7 then maybe. Have you got the 4670k overclocked? If not then doing so will give you a nice boost but it's not worth changing if the main use is gaming. I won't be getting rid of mine anytime soon.

Basically the same thoughts as pastymuncher has stated here. The only situation gaming wise where you would see any benefit with an i7 is if you went sli 980ti. Even then theres only a handfull of games where it helps.

Cheers, gaming is my main use and it was The Division's recommended specs that got me thinking about the change.

I've never done any overclocking but think I'll give it a go to try and get the most out of this CPU.

No real gains will be seen..stick :)

Your current CPU is still plenty powerful for gaming OP. No need for an upgrade. Maybe get a gsync monitor if you don't already have one if you really need to scratch that upgrade itch.

If you need more multi-core performance for non-gaming stuff then the X99 cpus are better by quite some margin.

Otherwie theres no point. If your mostly gaming and already have an i7 from Sandbridge up, then Skylake is kind of redundant.
