Hi was thinking of upgrading from my 23" 1080p monitor to 27" 2400p monitor.
Was just wondering if my Gtx970 would be powerfull enough for it ?
My budget would only be max £250 -£300

Thanks in advance

mmmm tough one, I was in sort of the same situation not long back and went with a 144hz 1080p gsync monitor, I think if you were going to go up resolution like to 1440p etc you would defo be better off getting a gsync monitor but that would be quite a bit over your budget, imo it would be a mistake to go higher res than 1080p with your 970 unless it was a gsync monitor

Ok cheers thanks for the advice.
Planning on getting a Vega card if they're any good when they finally come out. So might wait till then, is there a massive difference between 1080 and 2400 monitors.
Never seen 2400p just fancied an upgrade

tbh your better going with 1440p as 4k isn't really there yet when it comes to gaming, with a decent card like a gtx 1070/ 1080 you could make use of a 1440p 144hz gsync monitor, 4k monitors only really support up to 60hz as well at the moment.

if you want to go up in res I would recommend going with 1440p 144hz gsync monitor

Oops just noticed I put 2400p meant a 1440p monitor.
Really should preview my posts.
Would I be able to run and afford a decent 1440p monitor
Sorry for getting it wrong

you should be ok running 1440p with a 970 for some games, would still be better getting a gsync monitor though as it will help with the games that you struggle a bit with, I'm sure someone on here with a bit more experience using a 1440p monitor than me can comment and help a bit more, I'm sure there must be people using 1440p with a gtx 970 on here :)

Hi saw these for abit over my budget 27" Acer XF270HU, LG 29UC88 29" but decided i could prob push budget to £400. Was just wondering if any of them are decent monitors. Was wanting 27" but the 29" widescreen looked interesting

A 970 is going to struggle unless you're happy to turn your settings down a bit. My old 780 and SLI 780s really weren't up to the task. If it's just an interim until Vega hits, I'd definitely say go for it though.
