Worth waiting????

I would like to upgrade my cpu (e8400) to quad core one...should i buy q9550 or wait for q9550s version ..are there many advantages????

I'm not so sure myself. Apparently Intel are predicting that Core 2 is still going to be the 'platform to have' even right up until late next year.

I read this earlier, i'd wait looking at the prices of quad cores, it just ain't worth it, i mean what sort of programs do you run?

There ain't that many programs out there that I know of that uses quad core.

I mean i know i'm going to upgrade but.... is it worth waiting for energy efficient version of q9550 ...is it going to be much diffrence except temperature of cpu???
Mainly i am going to use it for Photoshop, Adobe premiere and gaming (cod4, fallout3)

I have the e8500 and was thinking of upgrading to a quad (q9550) But then i thought i might as well wait till after crimbo to see if there is any proce drop.
