I'm out of the loop on graphic cards and wondering if theres any great advantage on upgrading from my Gainward GTX 260 Golden Sample 1792MB.

My rig is an i7 920 @ 4gz, 6 gig of ram, 24" monitor @ 1920x1200, 750w Zalman PSU.

The two main games i'm looking forward to are COD Black Opps this year & Assassin's Creed Brotherhood next year.

Budget is approx £200 + whatever I can get for my current card, can got a bit over if it makes a big difference.

Should I buy now or is there something worth waiting for arriving soon.

The new line of high end ATI cards are coming out late November/early December so you may want to wait for those as they'd fall into your budget.

If you were buying now though, your best bet would be either a HD 6870 ~£180, overclock a GTX 460 1GB ~£150 or a GTX 470 ~£190.

Personally I'd wait, but with any of these cards, you should see a decent boost in performance from your 260.

Thanks for the replies, the Gainward GeForce GTX 470 GOOD Edition is tempting, cooling looks the same as my current card which is quite quiet.

But with a new ATI round the corner...will hold off till closer to COD release date to see if there's more details before making a decision.

Wait for Cayman

I suggest you put your card up for sale now to see how much you can get for it and wait for the new AMD Cayman / Antilles cards to come out. i doubt you'll be able to afford the Antilles/6990 (with your budget), so i would wait for the 6970 and 6950.
