Does anyone know of any good companies where you can purchase a car warranty? Basically for if you are buying a 2nd hand car which is just out of its manufacturers warranty?
Or are there none really that are worthwhile, or try to wiggle out of paying out for claims?

Warranty Direct, paid out last year for a new hood motor for my Z4 no problems at all, just filled in the required forms and got a cheque for just under £1K in about two weeks.

I just phoned them for a qoute and they had to get managers to clear it to warranty a honda civic type r , allthough the price of 320 quid for a year covering practicaly everyting seems reasonable.

Why do you need a warranty on a Civic? Dont see the point.

Well my CTR needed a new steering rack at 17k miles (Honda wanted a grand for it but was fortunately covered by warranty)

Why would I not want to warranty my new car past the basic dealer warranty  Some of the parts allthough unlikely to go wrong may do so and according to some of the bits I looked up they are not cheap.

Smokes, what sort of issues are you having if you dont mind me asking.

Thanks for that would have never looked at tesco their finest warranty is not too shabby for 330, included mot cover and brake discs and everything which is awesome. monthly interest free.

Yea it's good. A lot of Porsche owners (me included) are using the finest cover now, no complaints so far.

Just looking at the policy document:

What is not covered?

Brakes:

Brake Pads, Discs, Shoes, Pipes & Hoses

Read the mot Test section not the main policy section, this cover is included only in the finest cover. And according to what it says Discs are included under the following conditions.

Providing the vehicle has at least three months MOT Test remaining at the start of this cover and the MOT falls due within the period of cover, this MOT Test Insurance covers the cost or repair and/or replacement and/or adjustment to the specified parts listed below as a direct consequence of such parts being cited in a notification of refusal to issue an MOT
