Hi all,

I've just ordered the below components as my system really needs an upgrade, it's been some 3-4 years since I last did it as I have been mostly console gaming but want to also start again on the PC.

AMD Phenom II X4 Quad Core 955 Black Edition 3.20GHz (Socket AM3) - Retail
Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P (Socket AM3) PCI-Express DDR3 Motherboard
Antec 902 Nine Hundred Two Ultimate Gaming Case - Black (No PSU)
G.Skill Ripjaw 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C7 1600MHz Dual Channel Kit (F3-12800CL7D-4GBRH)
Seagate Barracuda 7200.12 500GB SATA-II 16MB Cache - OEM (ST3500418AS) X2
LG GH22NS40 22x DVD±RW SATA Dual Layer ReWriter (Black) - OEM
Akasa AK-274CB-4BLS 120mm Blue LED Fan

My question is, do I go ahead now and order a ATI 4890 graphics card for around the £150 mark or do I wait for the new 5xxx series to be released, also what is the best ATI card "bang for buck" at the moment, not really bothered about overclocking to be honest but just want the best performance for my money really ... guys all advice will be appreciated.

Thanks
Stu

Yeah, I was thinking to await the release of the 5xxx series cards just to see what the price point is like, isn't the release date something like the 23/09?

Will give my system time to arrive and then I can see how things with the newer cards pan out I guess but I know I need something better now than my good old 1900XT lol.
