Wossat noise?

When I'm gaming and the system is under significant load, I'm getting noise through my headphones. It sounds like the fans on the graphics card (ATi 7950) whining. But it could be the power supply.

I haven't got a comparable card to swap in, so pinning down the noise source is tricky.

Does anyone have any ideas, please?

little confused is the noise coming thru the headphone line or u can hear it outside of them i.e the noise is filtering through the headphone from the outside.

if its through the line check the connector and port to make sure they are clear of any debris, dust and such like

if its not through the line put the system under load and try to pin point the noise could be the fan bearing on gpu or psu or any number of things?

Try unplugging the front panel Usb port headers from the motherboard then see if the noise can be heard through headphones

If your headphones are Usb powered,try powering them from a Usb phone charger and not the pc
