i friend is prepaired to sell me some BH-5 corsair on the cheap, like 50 quid for 2 x 512.

id sell my sinlge stick of 512 tracer balastix DDR500 for around the same ammount i reckon.

Is this a good deal or would i be better off with 2gb of BAD ram and using a divider?

you OP is quite confusing?

BH5 is quality RAM and is quite rare. The chips were made by winbond iirc and is superb for low latency settings which makes them well sought after. Typically, 6-2-2-2 @ 400MHz is achievable.

Is 2x512mb of BH5 worth the £50? I think so yes because not only is it faster, you get the twice the amount of RAM than your current one stick of 512MB What speed is the RAM PC3200?

I'm not sure you'll get the same amount for your outgoing RAM tbh..

You can tget much higher frequenices that that, with a good set your looking at DDR500 @ 2-2-2-6 (at stupidly high voltage I point out, you'l need active cooling)

Hmmm if my Mushkin Redline XP4000 is bh5, then it is currently running at 260mhz (DDR520) @2-3-2-6 @3.4v. :D

I'd say more like 20-25, no one wants 512mb these days.

I would get the bh5 If I were you, will only cost you £30. I take it you currently have 512mb only?
