probably better selling your gtx and picking up a pair of 2nd hand 8800gt's when the new gts's are available

my 8800 ultra sli rig is being made to look like a complete waste of effort [i.e 2 x 8800 gt's in sli @700/2000 scoring 18k+ compared to my 19k in 3dm2k6]

Just upgraded to gtx sli, I run games at 1920x1200 with 2-16x aa/16x af, have to say I was blown away at how fast it was. :D

If you have a 24"+ screen go for it imo.

i don't really see the point right now unless you have a 30", 24" is handled just fine with 2 GT's or 2 3870's.

you need a massive psu to run them, they run pretty hot compared to the new cards and they're still average DX10 cards at the end of the day.

plus you have to run an nforce board ...ugh ...you enjoy rma'ing ram half a dozen times a year? and maybe a few boards too.

As some have already said - depends on your screensize. I have 2x 8800GTs but only a 17" 1280x1024 native so decided to sell one of them as it's dead money sat in my PC.

5.46 Avr FPS difference in Crysis on high, 0x AA when I tested it. Don't really see the benfit of SLI unless you have a big monitor or play with high AA levels, which I don't.

Yeah,

SLI in your case is completely pointless.

24" LCD @ 1900x1200 (16:10) or 22" CRT @ 1900x1440 (4:3) is handled in any Game by a single GTX/Ultra bar a buggy Console Port (Lost Planet DX10) or buggy Crysis (DX10).

But the Card(s) are coming to 1+years old so I would not add to it and wait and see whats new in Feb 2008.
