wotlk trailer

Your post shows me you never played wow Pre TBC nor played Warcraft -3.

If you did, you would realise this trailer was actually the best they made.

Also this is a teaser for patch 3.0. Not the introduction trailer for WoTLK. ;)

No, It's the Cinematic for WotLK, Do you think they would spend the man power needed for one of these cinematic's for a patch teaser? Aside from that, they've flat out stated just about everywhere that this is the "Real" WotLK Intro Cinematic.

The trailer itself, Technically it's fantastic, and story wise too, action etc, compared to the WoW and TBC ones it's poor, no Player Character's, And nobody other than Arthas, and Terenas narrating, I would have preferred to have had a cinematic akin to the TBC one, "You Are Not Prepared!"

Not going to argue on this with you. I know I'm right and you think you are. Moving on.

So you would rather have a trailer that has nothing to do with the lore then a trailer that has EVERYTHING to do with the lore?

Some wow players amaze me at the sheer lack of care and understand they have about the lore.

The trailer for patch 3.0 is better then any of the other they have produced.

Sandrigosa, the dragon he summons from the ground.....she will attack Orgrimmar and Stormiwind with the lich king.

This video is to demonstrate that.

I know full well about Sindragosa and the razing of Orgrimmar/Stormwind thank you very much, and I am quite aware of the lore, but I would prefer to have a more action-packed trailer (Just as all the others have been mind) and let the lore come through in the quests.

Oh and whilst I'm at it, here's a post by Vaneras on the WotLK Beta Forums the day the trailer was released

Five years have passed since Arthas released Ner’zhul from his icy prison and merged with him, claiming the Frozen Throne of Icecrown. Now the heir of Lordaeron has risen again, and soon the world will learn what it means to incur the wrath of its one true king....

The opening cinematic for World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King is now available for download or streaming from the official Wrath of the Lich King website. Check it out now!

But yeah, the fact they say that this is the "Opening" Cinematic for WotLK means that it's not, obviously.

Damn I thought it was just an ordinary frost wrym. I knew they would at some point have an invasion to the current zones like pre-tbc, wasnt sure what form this would take. But there has to be to move the story along, its what prompts the leaders to move to northrend.

I am sorry but it is you that is clearly wrong here. This is the trailer for WOTLK, not for the aptch. Blizzard wouldnt waste time on a trailer like this for a patch. And every news site has mentioned it is for WOTLK including Blizzards own news site and blizzard posters on the forum....

As for the trailer itself It i different to what I was expecting, far less action and far mroe subtle. However, I think it works. We don't really need another action trailer, we have 2 already.
The lore surrounding Arthas and the Lich King is woven very deeply into wow and I think the trailer is really good.

Im sorry but your wrong on all levels - I've been playing the warcraft seriece since warcraft 1, I've read the books, been everywhere in every map, looked at the backstory to every single important character. I've spent a long time understanding the story. So draft a fools conclusion based on a post that is entirely correct is dumbfounding.

the "CINEMATIC TRAILER" is clearly stated on that page as the wotlk introduction, not only that but if you as the so called "well read wow player" you make yourself out to be ever visited the official website or even read the warcraft launcher you would know for sure that it is the cinematic trailer.

having Arthus' father read some lines about how great he is going to be progresses no story at all, you only see him raise a dragon from the ice and assumably take control of undead scourge.

TBC trailer gave some indication on why illidan was there, what you'd get in outland, the 2 new races etc.

Is there any news on how Northrend will be introduced? In the last expansion I remember the infernals crashing around the cities and Naxx floating around places, which in the story let the NPCs know the gate was open and working again. So to fight them back meant going to Outland.
I am assuming something similar for the weeks leading up to WOTLK in the form of a scourge invasion of the cities and the leaders realising we need to wonder off to sunny northrend to take care of the threat once and for all.

well at the moment in game they are building the new harbor in stormwind so i guess they have already started that process and would guess more things later on

dont forgot they have to explain how Dalaran (and naxx) is going to be moved from Alterac to northrend :)

Just to make a third opinion that i'm pretty sure is correct, i thought it was only part of the opening cinematic, there is supposedly another half to it that will be revealed at blizzcon, that was the first bit for the liepzig games convention.

I'm pretty sure you're both kind of right :p but not entirely.

I have heard a rumour that there will be an invasion on Orgimmar and Stormwind. And the after math will leave burnt down buildings etc in the cities.

if that was the case they would have said "here is part one of the cinematic trailer"
