Would a case/PSU bundles be any good?

I'm building a new PC for a friend, it is only an entry level pc built around a I3 on a h61 board with no GPU (using onboard one), 1 DVD drive, card reader and 1 HDD (may expand to two later). was looking at these cases with a bundled PSU

OcUK Zeus Tower Case - Black (450W PSU) £32.66

OcUK Hades Micro ATX Tower Case - Black (450W PSU) £26.99

OcUK Poseidon ATX Tower Case - Black (400W PSU) £27.56

OcUK Memphis Tower Case - Black (500W PSU) £44.93

They range from about £30 to £40 but would the PSU be any good for my needs?

For the tiny amount of power those components are going to use, any of those should be fine. When you decide on a case you like, might be worth contacting OcUK and checking whether the PSU in that one comes with 3 SATA connectors or not (the Hades specifies no SATA connectors, most don't mention them). If that PSU doesn't have enough SATA connectors you'll need some of these:

cheers for the replys.thought they'd be ok. Had noticed the lack of sata and have been pricing converter cables. Think i'll get the micro atx if it comes back in stock

The psu's in those cases will be crap. While they would probably be ok with a budget build the first thing i would do would be to rip them out and fit a decent branded psu. Then again i would'nt be buying a cheap and nasty case with a crap psu in the first place. I would have gone for one of the cheap Coolermaster cases and something like a Corsair CX430 or Be Quiet! Pure Power L7 430w that you can get for £35. Yes it adds to the price but i would rather have piece of mind than a possible ticking timebomb.

erm thanks for that, surely they have to pass quality standardsor they would not be able to sell them? Anyway ended up getting one of the 2500k's that were on special, £310 for an i5 not bad.

Do a search for threads about cheap and nasty psu's. There seems to be very little quality control on them, the specs are plain nonsense and they are built down to a price using crap components. Quite a few review sites have done roundups on cheap psu's and most if not all them failed or even blew up.

Yeah I ended up asking a mate for his old psu as he has just upgraded. still £25 for the case is not bad. Didn't really want to use the psu on a quad core 2500k
