Would a new screen fix this?

Turn on the lappy this morning to be greeted with this in the bottom left....

It's not had any bangs or bumps so I guess it's just one of those things. Would a new panel sort it or should I be looking elsewhere for the problem?

Looks like one of the LEDs has failed, can't say I've ever seen one fail before, replacement panel would solve the issue.
