Would a Phenom II 710 be a worthwhile upgrade over a 5200+?

Here is the processor i currently have:

However, I'm considering upgrading to this:

and
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-180-GI&groupid=701&catid=5&subcat=

Would this be a worthwhile upgrade obviously my pc's performance will be much better or would i be better off saving more and getting a Quad core to last the test of time?

You would get a good performance increase. It's a six and two threes really though.

If i was you i would hold onto that money and save up more, but not necessarily for a quad core. It seems as though by this time next year or even earlier that you will see a HUGE performance increase in every chip, using 32nm manufacturing or lower. Basically, wait for 32!
