Would an upgrade be worth it?

Howzit guys,

Well since ATi have released their new cards, (48xx's) I was considering upgrading my 8800GTS 320mb for one of them. However I would like to know a few things first....

  • Would I see much of a improvment in games?

  • would the 4870 be better then the 4850?

  • Would the 4850 beat the 9800 series? or only the 4870 does this?

  • Would I be wasting money since I have a 19" LCD only?

I have a Samsung 19" LCD screen..so would the 48xx series be 'wasted' on this screen?

Any advice would be great..

Thanks guys! :D

Edit:

I forgot, the rest of my specs...

Intel E6400 @ 3.4Ghz
4Gbs DDR 2 memory
XFX 8800GTS 320MB

This is a subliminal message . . . you feel a strange compulsion to list up your old graphics card at auction . . . your not sure how you know but you are aware that your 8800GTS based on the old G90 core is sometimes selling for more than the new 8800GT featuring the much improved G92 core . . . . it seems certain buyers are thinking that GTS is better than GT, they do not understand fully the nature of these things . . . imagine selling a blatently old 320MB 8800GTS and getting nearly 80% of the value of a new bleeding edge HD4850! . . .you seem to think spending £30 to £40 to trade up is a good idea. . . .

Lol thanks for the Wayne.

I'm in South Africa, so not quite that amount. However I don't want the 4850 to be wasted on a 19" LCD if it will?

Also, what Nvidia cards beat the 4850s?

Thanks. :)
