Hey guys, i'm having a few contemplations, i love my 3500+ always have, never had a problem with it and its ran rock solid for nearly 2 years, the only thing is, it does seem to have having 1 or 2 niggling problems with Vista, just not being able to handle as much as it could with XP, naturally, so i'm thinking the dual core avenue is natural progression, but the main actual game i play is World of Warcraft, which the current system can handle right now, although i'm not sure what kind of performance i would be getting in Vista gaming and doing what i do in XP.

From what i've read i should be ok with a bios flash on my k8 neo platinum4 and it should be fine for the 939 4200, or 4600 (not sure if it is worth the extra) and maybe a new cooler, scythe ninka perhaps?

Your thoughts on if this is worthwhile? I know some people will say geta C2D, but for the cost of one right now i couldn't justify it if this CPU can put some beef into the machine to handle vista & more apps at a good rate.

Thanks :)

Thanks guys, yeah i'm currently running a S939 3500, the main reason i was thinking of the 4200/4600 over an opty was that i haven't ever overclocked, i don't know why, just haven't, maybe i worry too much about doing it! hehe :)

But as far as i'm knowing, my board would be ok with a bios flash? (Using oem vista so i bloody hope so lol) if so, i would prob go with a 4200 and Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro, as my current arctic frezer has been in there for 2 years and is beginning to whine a little bit! :)

Thanks for your help

Tim
