How much of english football these days is dependent on each team having one or two star players from other countries? I don't follow football much so I might be completely wrong here. But from what I've seen, it always or mostly seems to be some non english player that saves the day with an engiish team. Case in point, cup final. If I'm right, I just feel it's not what team football should be about. It says to me that english players aren't good enough to get very far without the 'real' talent of foreign players propping them up. Makes it a bit of a farce tbh. Am I completely wrong? I probably am so feel free to put me in my place :p

The question doesn't make any sense.

You're right, I did word it poorly.:p My meaning behind the title is, if for example, manchester city didn't have all their foreign players, would they have won as much, ie, won enough games to get to the FA cup final and win it. No, they wouldn't. Football should be about english born and bred players. Seems hypocritical to me that all these foreign players are allowed to infest ENGLISH football, but not allowed in the england team. Look at how many foreign players, it's a complete joke if you ask me. http://www.mcfc.co.uk/Players

Other than being laughably racist, can you come up with a good reason football should be about english born and bred?

Firstly, go far enough back most of us have blood steming from all over the world, aswell as England.

Secondly, football is about football, thats it. I'd prefer to see the BEST football I can with the BEST players, not watch a league that 1/100th of the worlds best players could produce, because it WILL be inferior.

Lol you fool, it's got absolutely bugger all to do with being racist, otherwise you might accuse FIFA of that for not letting foreign players play in the england squad. I like to see english athletes in all UK sports, because this is the country I support in sports. Would you be happy if every english team had no english players at all, and they were all german, brazilian, argentinian, italian and french? No doubt you'd love it, just so you can see great football.

I'm guessing you're conveniently ignoring the successes of Manchester United (and Birmingham, for that matter) this season, on account of them having more English players in their sides?

I'm guessing that these teams, without the propup of the various star foreign players in their lineups, would not be so successful.
