Would HD be pointless for me?

I'm looking at getting a new TV for my bedroom, a 23" or 26" LCD would be nice.

I was going to go for one with HD but I was thinking, is it really worth it?

I don't watch a lot of TV, just the odd DVD now and again, I don't have an Xbox 360 or Sky in my room and don't intend on getting it - the TV downstairs has Sky.

Am I right in thinking HD would be pointless for me?

Cheers.

Normal DVDs will look better if you have an upscaling DVD player I think or if you get a TV that does good upscaling itself.

Depends, it's not going to be much good for you at the moment, but if you get HD it'll be future proof. All depends how long your going to keep it for?

Make do with a cheap CRT instead and put the money in your savings. Then when you do need one you'll get a kickarse one.

If your going to get a LCD, you'l be hard pushed to find a good one without HD capabilities i think. Theres no point buying a dead technology, by all means if you feel you dont need D Tv then dont buy one, but like AcidHell2 it will be future proof, and you'l have a lot more connectivity etc etc

Whats your price raneg, maybe we can recommend you some :)

To be fair I don't watch HD on my Samsung 26"" bedroom LCD, but DVDs look great on it, as does PC via DVI.

And everyone comments on how sexy the TV looks :D
