hi,

has anyone done it and is it fairly easy to do.

is there a better way to get centos loaded and to learn it ?

looking at this as it was recommended by a colleague at work as one of the better versions relating to business etc.

any other advice welcome.

As kkelly says, it will work fine.

CentOS is usually recommended as the best way to get "Enterprise" Linux experience as RedHat is still the No.1 used distro in the enterprise. CentOS is effectively the community (free) edition of RHEL - versions and packages stay a near-enough 100% match, so RHEL 5.7 == CentOS 5.7.

Good luck with your learnings :)

If you get stuck just post in here someone will help when they see it :)

I use a lot of the Oracle Pre Built images on my laptop and never had an issue :)

Good luck

cheers gents, finally managed to get round to loading this up, now just a matter of finding my way around, and trying to find some online guides to make the most of it and get into the guts of this thing called linux :)
