building a new rig this side of Christmas?

Should I wait until next year, when IvyBridge, Bulldozer, other GPU series, etc come out?

I really want to play BF3, Skyrim etc.

But do not want to build a rig in october and then feel like my tech will be outdated within like 3 months.

Shall I wait? Or do you think even if I waited, I wouldnt be able to build a rig that has the new range of components for £850 anyway?

I doubt a 2500K is going to get outdated too quickly. You could always pair it with a 1155 mobo that will support Ivy Bridge if you're wanting that upgrade when they come out..

And perhaps hold off on the graphics card till 7xxx

AMD Athlon Dual Core 6000+
Nvidia 9800gt
2gb RAM
300gb HD lol.

I really dont think I can hold on any longer!

You need a good PSU for a GTX570 etc.

Looks good. That build won't feel sluggish for many years. You can always upgrade the GPU in the future.

Well i was kinda hoping that the Mobo and PSU could take me adding a second 570.

That would boost it and keep it good for a good few years yet tho too.

That will work, SLI is doable with it.

PSU and motherboard should be okay for 570 SLI.
