Would I need a new heatsink?

Good, because I have no intention of overclocking. :)

Also, can you please tell me whether my PSU would be good enough for the upgrade?(without new heatsink).

Here are the details on my PSU sticker:

Thank you. :)

Apart from three little letters at the start... H.E.C.

Get a new PSU. While you're at it you might as well get a new cooler. Even if you're not overclocking then it will be much quieter, and lower temps = longer life.

The cooler for the E6550 is designed to move 65 watts of heat under load
For the Q6600 it needs to move 105 watts under load

Go figure

Look at Geeks recomendation

But would my PSU be able to handle the Freezer 7 pro aswell?

I really don't want to have to upgrade my PSU, it is too expensive. :(

I really don't understand why a Q6600 would use up so much more power than an E6550, my PSU is handling a GTX 260 atm.

The Q6600 has 4 cores were the E6550 is dual core, the G0 version of the Q6600 is 95w.

The PSU will be able to handle the Freezer pro.
