I know it's only a 350w, but should be plenty for a system which is for now weaker than my veriton, but still with my hd6670?? It's basically brand new for £15 on the bay..

After getting my 9800gt working I figured I would leave that along with my corsair 400w in my veriton like I had thought about as I could sell it for decent amount and so would need replacement and the price seems too good to pass up if it's a good unit.

It is what it is and thats a basic no frills budget psu that isn't even 80 plus certified. It's a Delta built unit with 336w on the dual 12v rails. Nothing special but I have seen far worse budget psu's than this. If I remember right the 6670 doesn't need any power connector and gets all it's power from the pci-e slot so draws 75w or less. What is the spec of the pc although the psu should be fine so long as it's not a pc clocked to within a inch of it's life. There's a review of the psu here.

Thanks for reply..

Yeah I read it wasn't 80 plus or bronze at least, but for £15 it's worth a punt, but I'm still looking before I decide.

The 6670 meant to draw 66w at load and something around 20w at idle so I've read, apparently even a 250w can power the Radeon if it's a good unit.

The setup I'm looking at for a temp thing is:

Asus board
754
Athlon 3200+
1gb ddr pc2700(2 gab max and supports 3200)

It's what I own as it came in a job lot and works and my 210 was accepted in the PCI e slot( where hp I got didn't) so technically the Radeon should too.

Rest of the spec is 2 maybe 3 hdds a 200gb(main) 250gb(movies and steam) 80gb(personal files from previous computers, but only connect of need to), optical ide, case fan(more than one depending on case) and my Radeon, I use usb wireless network and keyboard and usb mouse.

The idea is to have a dual core or better cpu old or new generations and support for more than 4gb ram for if/when I decide to go 64bit again.

I have in my bay watch list a cit s006b I believe with a am2 gigabyte board with 4gb ram(8 max) fitted with an Athlon IIx3, has a x600 or 800 but that's irrelevant, it's up for 30 quid so I could buy that and put in a good decent psu And Radeon.

hope these arnt too big as i tried making them smaller, but here it is in all its glory, they had another but i didnt have another £15 on me lol, it was a replacement they said, but never got used so ill be interested to see how it does..

one thing though, i dont fully understand dual rails ie when does the 2nd rail take effect? nice having 336w total for both, but still only 168w per rail..

AWill this psu struggle with the acer veriton?

Athlon 5000b 2.6ghz
3gb ddr2 800mhz
Radeon hd6670
Molex fan
2 hdds
Sata dvd-rewriter

Basically the temp build not gone to plan, works up until blue screens of death and for some reason didn't like my win 7 hdd and haven't been able to complete a reinstallation.. Had a lot more detail but was long winded so erased that part.

So yeah I need to know of the antec will be enough?

The system worked with 1g of either pc2700 or 3200 along with my 210 when it was running in my SFF system, so I'm in a dilemma.

My options are:

.Build the 2 computers of weaker components and hope they still actually work properly then sell them.

.put the 400w corsair along with 9800 in missus computer and put the 210 in the SFF leaving the antec and Radeon for myself with veriton.

.put Antec in missus case and keep 210 with it and replace the 9800 with my 6670 then sell the GeForce.

.Get rid of everything bar hdds with my stuff on and the 210/Antec and buy a cheap laptop that be decent enough for my xbmc use if possible under £70 and also has sata so I can get a nice big hdd or ssd.
