Would I see a difference?

Hello,

I'm wondering whether I'd see much of a benefit if I were to buy a new motherboard and processor, the two I have in mind are:

My current setup:

AMD Phenom 965BE Quad 3.40Ghz
AMD VT3X 7850
Kingston HyperX Genesis Grey 8GB
Crucial RealSSD M4 128GB
Gigabyte GA-880GM-USB3 AM3+ 4xDDR3 AMD 880G USB 3.0 MATX
OCZ 600W

The problem is that in games like BF3 and Witcher 2 playing on Ultra see's me have 30-50 as an average FPS but I've looked around and for my card I should be seeing 45-60 so I'm lead to believe that my processor may be letting me down. What do you think? is it a no brainer?
 
You would see an increase in performance. It wouldn't be huge but it would be noticeable. As to whether it's worth it for £280 is up to you.
 
As above, try overclocking, can't imagine the difference will be worth £280...you'd probably see a bigger difference spending £280 on a second graphics card?
 
I'm on the same boat and everyones been telling me it's bottlenecking my gtx 680 massively however i dont think it's that big of a bottleneck tbh, certainly not worth the extra £280!

If it's still playing games at your required personal settings then why upgrade?
 
The problem is I can't invest in a second card because my mobo doesn't support xfire so this way I would be spending £280 for a minor difference but as and when the time comes I can get another 7850?

And when it comes to overclocking I had it at 3.80Ghz at one stage but I'd get issues with the computer actually booting up so I'm just going to steer clear.

What volts did you have it at? You should be able to touch 4.0ghz at around 1.4-1.44volts quite easily.

I'm sat on 3.8ghz at the moment at 1.42v


I noticed quite a difference when i overclocked my cpu especially when playing gta4.
