https://www.overclockers.co.uk/asus-m5a97-r2.0-amd-970-socket-am3-ddr3-motherboard-mb-501-as.html

and piledriver 6300 black edition cpu
8 gig of vulcan orange ram

i just play world of warcraft, but my mb gets very hot on the heatsinks,(its lovely sitting next to the thing on cold nights), i have about 150 to spend now on a new upgrade and was thinking of this mb,,,,,, would it be a better choice , thanks in advance

You gain USB 3.1 and a M2 slot along with SLI support and that's about it. The FX series hammer vrm's, especially when overclocked and that's why the heatsinks are hot. At least they are doing their job. You just need to improve airflow across them to cool them better.

I wouldn't be apending any money on a ancient socket that is about to be replaced. The board you have is a decent board so stick with it.
