Alright there people .
Right lets get down to buisness i have in my set up at the moment a "Amd 4000+ 64 sandy" ,
And i have seen that this week ocuk have a offer for a AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+" ,
The question is that if i bought one of these would i see a performance in crease at all and would it be worth spending the dosh to make current 939 system last a bit longer !!!! ,

my current set up is ................................
Amd athlon 64 4000+ san deigo core @ 2.4 mhz ( stock ) ,
asus ar832 – mvp deluxe ,
artic freezer 64 pro,
EVGA GeForce 8800 GTS SuperClocked 640MB
2 Gb Elixir Ramm,
Maxtor Diamond Max 10 Sata 2 160Gb Hd
Samsung Spinpoint Sata 2 160Gb Hd
Maxtor Diamond Max 9 80GB Ide
Hiper 580 Type R Psu SLi ready
Akasa Eclipse 62 ( with side window)

Before I bought my present set up I was in a similar position. TBH I went from a 4000 to a x2 4600. I did not notice a big difference in the games I play.
However going from a 4600 to a Intel kit of 6700. I found a big jump.
If you are keeping skt 939 for a while I suppose going dual core while you can get the cpu's is ok. Just dint expect a mind blowing performance increase.

If you want more CPU power you really should think of overclocking what you have. I gained 600Mhz from mine with little effort.
 
For gaming I wouldnt make the upgrade, better spending money on graphics but as i can see you already have a great card.
