Hi all.

A mate has offered to sell me his Mac Mini for a good price.

I haven't bought any "gadgety" bits for a while and was thinking of taking it off his hands.

Thing is, I can't really see myself using it?

I do quite a bit of graphic design/web development - would the Mac excel in this?

My current spec is a skt 754 3000+ and 1GB of PC3200 RAM, in a Asus barebones system.

I think the Mac Mini is the G4 1.5Ghz with 512MB PC3200 model.

What about software for them? I take it you have to install Mac specified versions of things?

Cheers. :)

They are quite good, my housemate has one and he loved it, never crashed and was always spot on. You can now install windows on them, although I'm not too sure how that works etc :)

You can only install Windows onto the Intel Mac's. This one is a G4 so you cant put Windows on it. I have one that is very similar. Its a great little bit of kit. I only bought it to play around with OS X and GarageBand.

I bought one when they came out. Played about with it for about a month and then reboxed it. Should sell it really.

My dad got one from work for a couple of weeks, he got bored with it very quickly, mainly because he had only ever used windows I think.

If you can find a use for it, go for it, but dont buy it just for the gadget factor, thats what he did.
