Looking at taking finance out for the following prebuilt. One thing the missus has said is will it do me for 3 years. I think so, but 3 years is a long time!

What do you think

Intel® Viiv™ Core™ 2 Duo E6600 Processor (2.4GHz,1066MHz,4MB cache)
Dell™ 22" Black Wide Flat Panel (E228WFP) - UK/Irish
2048MB 667MHz Dual Channel DDR2 SDRAM [2x1024]
640GB Serial ATA RAID 0 Stripe [2x320GB 7200rpm drives with DataBurst™ cache]
SINGLE 768MB nVidia® GeForce® 8800 GTX graphics card
16x DVD+/-RW & 16x DVD Drives

Works out as £1217.19 over the 3 years.

I know I could build a better pc for the money but cant get that kinda money up front.

I'd say so, yes. Is there any chance you could upgrade the RAM to 4GB, this is the only thing which could help.

Look good at face value but check tho components used especially the mother board and psu .The only way to future proof is to have an upgrade path these items are crucial .
Btw don't spend £94 on the extra 2 gig of ram u can get 2 gig here for £52 or 4 gig for £72.50

Just for comparison purposes here is a roughly equivalent specification from OcUK, you could have to build it yourself of course although there are still a couple of areas to save money. :)

3 Drives in raid 0. I just hope you plan on having a backup....

I would say go for it, it should be very fast with raid0 I can really tell the difference between having 1 drive and two in raid0. 8800GTX you WILL be able to play all the new games. My X800GTO could handle most of todays new games. I would just get 4GB ram to futurproof it ecpecially if your running vista?

I know somewhere you can get finance on individual components if building the rig is also something you want to do to it ( Can't say names here though can I  ). After all, its not the same if you aint built it yourself huh???
