Would like to find some more "strings and beats" music - ala. Rob Dougan, Hybrid

I'm getting that itch to find some more music.

I'd really like to get some intelligent (read: interesting rhythms and harmonies) strings and beats music.

Artists in my collection that come to mind are:

Hybrid (particulary Wide(r) Angle)
Rob Dougan
Aphex Twin (at times)
Björk
Black Dog / Plaid
Frou Frou
Orbital (at times)

Anyone else using electronic beats + full orchestras or something? I know Mars Volta did a couple of interesting Bach 'remixes'...

Not sure if DJ Shadow comes under this category.

I've been avoiding him for years because a certain friend used to bang on about him all the damn time. But after listening to him not so long ago, I believe his first album Entroducing to be one of the best.

you'll probably like kate havnevik. guy sigsworth (one half of frou frou, done work with bjork) does a lot of production on her album "melankton".

You might want to check out Unkle.

Psyence Fiction their first album is superb, War Stories is a bit hit and miss but has some cracking songs like Mayday and Twilight, End Titles... Stories for Film is also very good.
