Would Making These Changes To An Insignia Be Easy/Possible?

Thinking about buying one of these disgusting pieces of filth for around £3k (sorry but whoever thought making an otherwise elegant car look like a clown deserves a punch in the nose):

And making it look like this:

Is this a simple replacement job? I have found facelift bumpers on eBay for around £100 and a pair of facelift headlights for £200. Do any other (main) parts need replacing as well such as the side fenders and bonnet?

Can anyone see (from the pic) any other changes made to this car? Obviously the crimson red wrap and black alloys but does it look like the suspension has been lowered or is it an illusion from the bigger wheels?

And would it be better to just buy the faclift model for 6k 100k milage? Are they worth it over a 2010 version? If not looking to spend under a grand on the conversion excluding alloys (doing all the work myself including the wrap). Thanks.

I think you'd be better off asking this in a Vauxhall forum...

Looks like a simple enough bumper, headlights, suspension etc. job though. Not sure why you'd go through all that effort on an Insignia that's worth £3k though?

They are hateful things, awful. So you plan to take an awful thing and make it look a bit nicer, but underneath is still a hateful thing.

It's a diesel, it's an auto, it's an Insignia.

Noooooooooo just noooooooooooo

Life's too short for those options, get something fun

Under no circumstances should anyone buy an insignia diesel with 80k+ miles. They're a ticking time bomb.

That and the interiors feel really cheap, the rear quarter visibility is miniscule and they feel almost agricultural to drive.

Why oh why op? 3k is only going to get you a shed of an Insignia.
Also there is a model called the VX Line which is basically the same body kit and 19/20 inch alloys off the VXR. The modded example u linked to in the picture might have that bodykit on like bigger bumpers and side skirts with bigger alloys. Just a waste of money to make a poverty spec diesel into that.

There are loads on Autotrader with 180k miles. Surely if they were so likely to break there wouldn't be so many high milage ones around?

The interiors are a big upgrade from my 01 Ford Focus.

As Fox points out above high mileage cars may already have many problems behind them, and quite possibly more ahead. The diesel is very punchy I'll give you that, but as the bottom end was built by Cadburys they really are a money pit in waiting. The interior os an Insignia is better than the interior of an Allegro, but that doesn't mean it's any good. Yes the interior is better than your '01 Focus, but then that Focus isn't a £3k car now and the insignia should be compared with cars of a similar age/value.

How did we to from a 25k 428i to modding 3 grand Insignias in the space of a week?

The 428i is 18k. It's this one:

It's a manual. People here (you) suggested don't go for manual. I can't find any 428i to test in nearby showrooms. Driving aside, I preferred the E400 which I missed and am very unhappy about.

I dont get all the hate about the Insignia. It's far from rubbish.

That one actually looks like a pretty good spec, with half leather, BT, sat nav, USB etc.

It's a good wafter. If you want to jazz one up then at least start with an SRi.
