Would testing a processor potentially break my PSU?

I am unsure whether a Q6600 Intel Core 2 Quad processor would work with my PSU (High Quality Evolution Commitment). *You can see my other thread in the CPU forum if you want to help me* ;)

Is there any chance that testing it may overload my PSU and break it?

Here are the details on my PSU sticker:

So 550W.... I run mine off 600W along with an 8800gt so you should be fine. I'm fairly sure it wouldn't break even if I was wrong though

Thank you very much for your help :)

But are you sure, I do have a GTX 260 card and other people have been doubting my PSU...
