Would the H50 be sufficient ?

Hello.

I am considering purchasing the Corsair Hydro H50 to cool an overclock to 4.1GHz for the AMD Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition 3.2GHz (3.6GHz turbo).

Will it keep the processor cool enough ? If not, what about the H70 ?

I have the H50, and I'm very happy with it. The H70 is apparently hardly any different in terms of performance, and a lot bulkier.

a lot of people on here rate the Prolimatech Megahalems, and say it is on par with the H50.

Thanks.

To anyone that knows

Can I improve the performance of the H50 with different and/or extra fans ?

What do people mean by "push pull" when talking about water coolers ?

I changed from a Titan Fenrir to a H50 a few days ago. At first idle temps were similar to that with the fenrir but after running intensive cpu stress tests my CPU just wouldn't exceed 71c, I was quite impressed considering I ran 10 rounds of intel burn test too!

However I just checked my idle temps now and they've dropped atleast 5-7c on each core so I think the h50 is starting to settle now so to speak. Not using a push/pull config though as I'm happy with the results I'm getting now.

previous idle temps: 43/42/40/41
current idle temps: 37/36/35/35

This is with a Q6700 2.66GHz overclocked to 3.33GHz and 1.34V

I know you have an AMD cpu but hope it's convinced you :P

Thanks.

If your going push-pull you will also need some extra screws. I have some spare if you need some, got a bag of 20 odd.

Yep watch out for this! The H50 only comes with 4 screws (enough for one fan) and I tried B&Q and places and no where had the right screws. Fortunately I had another H50 to hand so pinched its screws and sold it on to someone who didn't need screws...
